This book, by two of Ireland's foremost experts on industrial heritage, brings to public attention the wide variety of bridges in use in Ireland, today and historically. The book is divided into six chapters spanning the gambit of bridge construction as well as a glossary of technical terms.
The one drawback that I would see with the format of the book is that the core text of the six chapters is interlaced with photographs and related narrative of different individual bridges, which do not appear to have any particular connection to the chapter, nor are they presented in any geographical or logical format.
That said, this publication is more readable than "Irish Stone Bridges" by O'Keefe & Simington. The narrative for each featured bridge gives a brief history of the structure, which would usefully act as a starting point for further research on such structures.
