Ingenious Ireland is an ideal coffee table book, not in the Stephen Hawkins sense of having it to show off, but one to return to time and time again, given its myriad of facts about different facets of Ireland's scientific and technological, past and present.
The book contains a significant amount of IH related material, particularly in the mining heritage field and while it would be possible for the expert/knowledgeable amateur to pick nits about some of the text (e.g., on P120, the Boyne Viaduct track was actually interlaced and not single track after its rebuild in 1932), these are but minor points in an otherwise detailed, quality publication.
If the extensive research wasn't enough, a list of all relevant visitor centres (of which I counted over 70 with an IH bent) is provided as an appendix.
