The author has produced an abridged version his work "Classic Irish Whiskey" as a special publication for Irish Distillers.
The first section of the book deals with the early days of whiskey production, both in Ireland and elsewhere. Subsequent chapters look at the history of distilling in Ireland to date, the manufacture of whiskey, poteen and whiskey related visitor centres. The main part of the book is given over to an A to Z of Irish whiskey brands, past and present.
While not intended as an industrial heritage work, this publication would happily fit in on any IH bookshelf.
