This book is what it says on the tin, a heritage inventory of the buildings of the ESB. Not every ESB building is included, space precluding this, however, the authors have selected those deemed to be of the greatest interest.
The published inventory is presented by county with an OS map of the county showing the locations of sites covered. The format for each site gives the names of the surveyor, photographer and field controller, the OS ref, an architectural evaluation category and a special interest categorisation.
Given the diverse nature of activities of the ESB, not all sites included here are of an industrial heritage nature. However, significant IH detail is included in the book.
