Mountain Mine Man Engine House, Allihies, Co. Cork

The Mining Heritage Trust of Ireland have completed conservation of this internationally unique structure, the Man Engine House at Mountain Mine, Allihies, Co. Cork.

Located adjacent to the Beara Way, the engine house is an icon of the Beara Peninsula. In total, €265,000 has been spent over the 5 year period 2001 - 2005 on this project.

This has left the MHTI with debts of over €10,000. Donations to clear this debt are sought and gratefully received. Cheques payable to MHTI can be sent to:
