The aim of this site is to develop, over time, an objective resource pertaining to Ireland's industrial heritage.
Whilst there are other sites which may purport to do this, the inate actions of vested interests may impede the transmission of information not deemed to be in the interests of certain individuals/organisations.
In my own case, I do not derive an income from industrial heritage or any related activity (the day job is as an accountant) - a career that I see primarily as a means of paying the bills and one which leaves me with a reasonable work life balance, enabling me to devote considerable resources into the research and recording of Ireland's industrial heritage.
Because I am not dependent on contracts from developers/local authorities/State bodies, I am free to observe and comment as I see fit, subject only to the truth and the law of the land. As a result, if I consider something to be wrong, I will say so without fear or prejudice.
If you are the sort of person who likes your information filleted and censored, look elsewhere.
