Fronting onto the Drumcondra Road, the station was only built here because the original proposed location to the east of here brought forth
objections from Drumcondra Town Commissioners that "their" station was being built in such an obscure location. The GS&WR relented and built
the station here instead. The station was closed for over 80 years until 1998 when it reopened.
