Site Description
Closed in 1963, this station was the junction for line to Clara. It has two platforms with that on the Down side having two faces, the far face being used for Clara branch trains. The station buildings were on this side also, with a waiting room and goods store on the Up side.
The base of the water tower remains at the Galway end of the Down platform. The base of the signal cabin (closed as a block post in 1963) is beyond the Up platform at the Galway end of the station.
The branch was originally connected to the mainline at the west end of the station. This was later altered when the turnout at the west end of the station was removed, leaving access via a headshunt at the east end of the station.
