Aughnacloy was the head office of the Clogher Valley Railway and is the most substantial station on the line. There were both Up and Down platforms here with the station building on the Down side. The station building is now in use as a private residence and nursery. At
the Maguiresbridge end of the station was a unique overhead gantry that fed coal to the steam engines beneath. Also at this end of the station was a carriage shed on the Up side. In addition to the station, the company's works were here and the facilities included a
locomotive shed and workshops, stores, a goods shed, turntable, gasometer and the locomotive superintendent's house. A couple of these buildings remain.
