Site Description
Immediately north of the Square Crossing (closed and lifted in 1954) was the original D&BJR station, which closed in 1893. The Down platform of this remains. There was previously an Up platform and a Down platform on the branch, from which passenger trains on the D&ER departed (their goods trains ran from Barrack Street).Photographs
