Opened in 1882 to replace the two stations on either side of it, there are both Up and Down platforms with the station building on the Up side. There is a waiting shelter on the Down platform, which is connected to that on the Up side by a footbridge. There was a signal cabin on the Up side at the Rosslare end of the station. Looking back, high above the station on Killiney Hill, can be seen an obelisk. My great great grandfather - Richard Grogan - was stationmaster here in the 1890s.
