Site Description

The station layout here was quite extensive as befitted a three way junction with lines converging from Lisburn (Knockmore Junction), Scarva and Newcastle. In its heyday, there were two signal cabins - one at each end of the station. There were both Up and Down platforms with a bay of Lisburn trains on the Down side. The goods area was on the Up side at the Newcastle end of the station - this area was originally the BL&BR terminal facilities. Apart from the engine shed, which is not visible from the public road, little trace of the station remains today.
