The two platformed station here reopened in 1984, with the main business being done annually on 13th July for the local 'Sham Fight'. In previous years, there was a hedge cut in shape of a bowler hatted man at the Dublin end of the Down platform. There is a shelter
and the former stationmasters residence on the same side.
The station building was on the Up platform but has since been demolished. There was a north facing bay platform on the same side, which was used by trains on the branch to Banbridge and Newcastle. This branch ran parallel to the mainline, passing under a two span
footbridge before diverging on the same side until it was closed in 1955. Part of the embankment of this can still be seen from the line. There was also an interchange facility with the Newry Canal.
