Approaching the station, there is a riverside linear park adjacent to the Ballymoney River on the Down side. The former goods depot is on the Up side at the Belfast end of this two platformed station and is now in use as a bus depot. The large goods store remains in alternative commercial use. The running line serves the Down platform, on which there is a canopy, with a loop serving the Up platform, on which is the station building, complete with canopy.
There was previously a south facing bay behind the Up platform. This was the base for the narrow gauge line to Ballycastle, which trailed in on the Up side at the Belfast end of the station, until finally closed in 1950. The area has been filled in and is in use as a car park. Approaching the station, there is a siding on the Up side, which trails into the loop.
There is a modern footbridge/cycleway crossing the station. This is part of the Sustrans cycleway network in Northern Ireland.
